WATCH: Sens. Klobuchar and Fischer weigh in on impeachment trial

Sen. Klobuchar, D-Minn., and Sen. Deb Fischer, R-Neb., each joined Judy Woodruff to share their perspectives as members of the jury in President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial on Jan. 24. Klobuchar called on her Republican colleagues to be courageous and make the “right” choice in the impeachment trial. When asked about her presidential bid and whether she’s missing the chance to campaign in Iowa, she said she “can’t think of a more important thing to do right now than be here upholding our Constitution.” Fischer said she’s waiting to hear what the president’s defense has to say before making up her mind. The White House will argue its case after the House managers have been allowed 24 hours over the course of three days to present theirs. The House of Representatives impeached the president in December on two articles — abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The trial will determine whether Trump is convicted of those charges and removed from office, or acquitted.
