Rep. Lucy McBath, D-Ga., spoke out during the Dec. 11 Judiciary Committee’s markup of the articles of impeachment, saying “I am forced to face a solemn conclusion–I believe the president abused the power of his office, putting his own interest above the needs of our nation,” with that, she said, “I must vote my conscience. And I will do so with a heavy heart and a grieving soul.” McBath also spoke about losing her teenage son to a shooting death, and shaping a country that her son would be proud of.
