Hours after Turkey launched an offensive against Syrian Kurds, President Donald Trump defended his decision to withdraw troops from northern Syria, saying it was time to bring U.S. troops back home. When asked what will happen if Turkey’s president wipes out the Kurds, Trump responded, “I will wipe out his economy if that happens.”
Trump made his remarks after signing executive orders on Oct. 9, that he said are aimed at making regulations easier for small businesses to follow. The president also defended the White House’s decision to bar witnesses from testifying in the impeachment inquiry, saying the process is unfair.
