The family of a woman who was shot by police inside her Forth Worth, Texas, home are expected to call for accountability at an Oct. 14 news conference. Atatiana Koquice Jefferson, 28, was killed during a welfare check on her home Saturday. According to police, the officer, who has not been named, “[perceived] a threat” while walking around the outside of the home and fired inside. The family has asked for an investigation and better training for police officers.
